The Immortal Law
The immortal law describes the rules the immortals must follow. The GrGods
and Implementors will enforce the laws if needed. The immortal laws are
directed only to the immortals, not to the mortals. Once the laws are
implemented, they can be changed or/and complemented by the elders
(>=Level 46).
The Laws:
- The handbook has to be obeyed!
- The lower immortals do not have any administrating rights.
It's the task of the higher gods to enforce the policy and/or the
mudiquette.
Only in special extraordinary situations are they are allowed to keep
players from damaging the integrity of the mud.
- You are responsible for everything you do! So if you act foolishly,
you have to pay the consequences. Denying your actions will be treated
as damaging the integrity.
- We try to have a democratic climate here in immortal spheres. But if
necessary, you have to accept the hierachy. We don't want that you go
around and curse the administration, but sometimes it has to be heard,
exept if an immortal has to be punished.
- If you think something goes wrong, you have to say this! No-one is
allowed to punish you, only cause you said your thoughts {and it goes
along with the integrity/policy}
- Beneath the handbook you have also follow the words of the wise priest
(room #1209).
The Mortal Law
- The decision of a judge cannot be objected to.
- If a mortal thinks he has been treated unfairly by the judges,
and seeks personal revenge, he will be punished severely by the
Immortals. If a mortal thinks he was really treated unfairly he
has the one-time option to ask for a godly decision, which is
nothing else but a fight to the death in the arena of Moonglow
against a tough but killable foe, nominated by the gods. Winning
the fight means the mortal is free, losing means the criminal will
be punished as the judges decided.
- The enforcement of decisions will be done by the Immortals if
needed. This is to prevent very high level mortals from seeking personal
revenge upon the judges.
- All the crimes below can only be dealt with after an accusation
has been placed on the judge board. The judges themselves will
not start a trial without an accusation being posted.
- The hunters are allowed to interfere directly in case of an
emergency situation by capturing the suspect and putting him/her
to jail. But they can only keep them in jail for a short time
in which an accusation has to be made by the victim or the hunter,
in case of absence of the victim. If the victim denies to accuse
the suspect he/she has to be set free immediately.
- Playerkilling:
- Playerkilling among chevalier players is considered illegal by
the Mortal Law. But it can only be dealt with if the victim
accuses the suspect.
- Playerkilling of a non-chevalier player by a chevalier player is
a very serious crime and will be punished very hard.
(In case the victim is a newbie, the kill violates the policy and
will be dealt with by the immortals.)
- Playerkilling by a non-chevalier is a crime dealt with by
the immortal judges. The mortal judges are only responsible
for crimes done by chevaliers.
- To allow the ordermembers to protect their homes without gaining the
(outlaw)-flag, the orderrooms all have the ARENA (playerkilling)-flag.
- Playerthieving
- Playerthieving is considered illegal and thus the perpetrator has
to give back all the stuff he/she still owns and has to pay a big
fine for each item that is gone. There will be an additional
punishment which has to be considered concerning the severity of
the thieving.
- Playerhome Picking
- Playerhome picking is considered illegal under mortal law.
- Playerhome picking by a non-chevalier is a crime dealt with by
the immortal judges. The mortal judges are only responsible
for crimes done by chevaliers.
- Note that the crime of playerhome picking has to be proven. For
this the Hunters are able to check homes for fingerprints of a
homepicker.
- Casting 'frog'
- If a mortal turns someone into a frog this is considered a crime.
The severity of the crime depends on the fact of the presence of
a mortal of opposite gender.
- Orders
- Order are open to enter for everyone. There is no law forbidding this!
Also attacking the order guard isn't forbidden by the law in any way!
But please note that every order is an ARENA, so the order members
are allowed to attack any intruder. Everyone who gets killed in an
order which he/she entered willingly can't accuse the killer.
- Stealing from a corpse or a home in an order is considered illegal and
punishable by the law.
- Blocking the access to a corpse isn't allowed too. Please drop the
corpse at a place the killed one can get it back.
- Handling the cases
- A case is outdated after a period of 14 days has passed. Within this
time the case has to be decided or it is declined. In case there is
only one judge with enough time to handle the case, he/she is allowed
to deal with it on his/her own.
- If the judge is a direct witness for the crime, which means he/she was
in the same room as the convict while he/she was committing the crime,
the judge may not handle this case. If both judges are witnesses the
case is handled by the immortals.
- All cases should be arbitrated by both judges. Exceptions see above.
